Fabulous Freebies!

I just love the teachers' blogs here on blogspot! They are all-ways throwing freebies out for everyone to use. I know I don't have my own classroom yet, but I can use all of the freebies with either my niece or the little boy I baby sit every Saturday! It's wonderful! Plus I can hold on to them to use when I do have my own class!
I am seriously getting so excited about teaching! I can't wait to get back into classes. Maybe I can graduate within a year? Who has faith in me?? lol If I believe I can do it, then I know I can do it! Or I know I WILL do it, how 'bout that?!?
So, if you read my post about transferring to Auburn for my Master's, then you know that I want to transfer to AUM to finish getting my Bachelor's, then Transfer to AU for the Master's. And you also know that I called both schools today to see if, #1, AU will take my Bachelor's from AUM, and #2, to make sure AUM's Bachelor degree for education is online; and if its not, to see if I can take a few classes a day, a couple days a week. So... AUM said that I would have to wait to see if I get accepted and then look at my course schedule. She made me think that they don't have an online program, but that I can take classes as many or as few days a week as I'd like. She that some of the classes may be online. I'm still a little confused! lol I'll call and get more information when/if I get accepted!
I'm getting excited!!

What a Weekend!!

Did anybody else feel like this weekend just didn't happen? Maybe it was because I was so pumped about something awesome that I learned this weekend that I just didn't pay attention!
My classes have been put on hold for a little bit. :( The university that I'm enrolled in is an on ground school that offers online classes. They are based in Phoenix AZ (no, its not the University of Phoenix) but are SACS accredited. But I've been kinda leery about whether I'll be able to teach in AL after graduating from a school in AZ. My family is REALLY big about Auburn football. My dad's dad graduated from AU, and I've always thought it would be pretty cool to graduate from a well known school around here. AU is about 2-2 1/2 hours from my little city, so I was gonna try to take classes online. Sadly, for education majors, they only offer a Master's via internet, and I'm still working on my Bachelor's. But, come to find out, AU has a "sister school" a little closer to me that does offer undergrad classes online...I think. I'm calling tomorrow to find out for sure. And even if they don't, its only about an hour's drive. And if they will let me, I can take classes a couple times a week. Not too far of a drive twice a week. I can do this!! But I can get my BS from AUM and then get my Master's online through AU! My family would love it, and I know for a fact that I'd be eligible to teach in AL if I graduate from one of the best know school's in the state!
So I am pumped and ready to go! I can't wait to talk to someone tomorrow. If they will do this, I'll be teaching in no time!! lol

Future Classroom Theme

Hi Everybody!
I have always had a thing for cute little frogs...monkeys...and a few other things. But for the past couple of years I've had my mind made up that I want a frog themed classroom. But the more I look at all of today's classrooms, I kinda like the chevron, polka dots, stripes, plaid and that sort of things.
Light blue and light green have always been favs as well. I've seen some really cute frog/chevron things on pinterest, TpT, and yahoo just flipping through images. I'm stuck now!! Do I want to just go with frogs in general, or throw some chevron in there with them? Or do I want frogs with one of the other things I listed? Or maybe just one of the designs without the frogs? So many things to choose from!! lol
I dunno! I'm stuck on all of them! I see too much in each theme that I like! How do you other teachers make a final decision every year?

I still am not 100% sure I want to teach kindergarten. I get my mind set on that age, and then I think of things for older kids! I guess I just need to be patient and wait and see where I'm needed huh? It will all work out for the better!!

Teach With Laughter

Hi Guys!
So earlier this evening I was bouncing around the teachers' blogs and won something! Teach With Laughter had a contest going on. For the first 3 comments on her posts, they would get a copy of her "I Spy Bossy   'e' " game. I was the third! That goes right along with my post the other day! Should I be stocking up on things that I can use in my future classroom? She left me a comment on that post tonight tell me good luck, that I had I won and that I should start stocking up. I've been told that things will change, but young kids like that age group are always learning the same things. So I'm really super excited about this. I can't wait to try it out!! That's one good thing about having young children in the family!

Thinking Ahead??

Hi Everyone!
As usual, I am sitting at work (yes, at 2:00 in the morning) blog hopping. I am coming across a ton of new things that I think are just amazing, to say the least! Every teacher's blog that I have come across so far has tons of things that I would just love to use when I get my own class.
I am still a couple of years away from graduation, but should I go ahead and start stocking up on sets and units that I could use in the future? Or would things change too much in 2-3 years? Should I start thinking about everything I want to do? I can already see my classroom in my head. My theme, decorations, everything! Should I be bouncing around on TpT and other stores like that, or just stay put for now?
I'd love some feed back from all you wonderful teachers!!!
TIA

The Very Beginning

Hi Everyone!
I figured since this is the very first post, I'll use it to tell you a little about me! I am in school to receive my Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education. My minor is Early Childhood Education. I have an amazing 7 year old little boy that lights up my life every single day!! Back in 2009 I started working at a childcare center around here. That was made me decide that I wanted to be a teacher. When my son started school, it made me realize it even more. I would walk through the halls and see inside the classrooms on "meet the teacher" nights and really just want to cry! I could see all that they were doing, how they had their classrooms set up, things on the walls that past students had finished....it just made my day. But also made me realize that I just have that much left to do before I can have all of those things too.
Lately (Okay, I say lately, but really just the past couple of days) I've been blog hoppin' through a bunch of teachers' blogs. It just makes me want to hurry up and graduate even quicker. Today's teachers are my motivation, I guess? I love seeing all that they do with their "little kiddos" and it just makes me want my own "kiddos" even more!
